No entendemos que no entendemos

La inteligencia de un sistema humano organizado para lograr objetivos requiere la búsqueda continua de muchas alternativas (pensamiento divergente), en lugar de la preocupación por encontrar la solución única y óptima (pensamiento convergente).
La competitividad requiere que sea “sistémica”. Esto es, responsabilidad de todos y de cada uno. En la descripción de tareas de cada cargo del organigrama debería figurar la responsabilidad que ese cargo tiene en la protección y mejora de la competitividad de la organización. Pero también —y fundamentalmente— la competitividad es resultante de la interacción entre esos cargos. Lo interdisciplinario. Lo interfuncional. Y lo internivel. Es la organicidad en lugar de la organización. Esto sirve para tener muchos puntos de vista diferentes ante el mismo problema. Esto es “pensamiento divergente”.
¿Cómo son de frecuentes en su empresa este tipo de actividades?
¿Qué actitud se toma ante los disidentes?
¿Cómo se premia la generación de ideas?
¿Quiénes y cuántos provocan la cultura patológica del “Si Señor”?
¿Se busca a cualquier costo el consenso o se acepta la “tensión creativa” para no quedar obnubilados por nuestras propias decisiones?
¿Qué pasa cuando alguien tomó una decisión que fracasó?
- La empresa es un sistema de aprendizaje continuo.
La competitividad implica la preocupación por disponer de grupos semiautónomos de resolución de problemas como para asegurar que los individuos, los grupos y las máquinas hagan sólo lo que sepan hacer bien.
Pero como todo cambia cada vez más fuerte y cada vez más rápido, los hombres, los grupos y las máquinas no pueden dejar de aprender. Innovar depende de aprender.
Porque si no, dejan de hacer las cosas bien.
Aprender significa detectar lo que cambió y lo que va a cambiar y disponer de las habilidades y capacidades de innovar para lograr los objetivos a pesar o gracias a esos cambios.
Pero aprender también significa saber si hay que seguir persiguiendo esos objetivos y no otros.
En el nivel superior de la inteligencia humana, aprender significa aprender a aprender. Saber cómo saber cómo.
Y aprender significa olvidarse de cosas que sabíamos pero que ya no nos sirven. Esto es desaprender (y esto a los seres humanos nos duele).
Y aprender significa pensar que nunca podemos conocer la realidad objetiva porque el “conocer” es una actividad subjetiva.
Que lo que tenemos en la mente son sólo percepciones o representaciones de la realidad pero que no necesariamente esas percepciones y representaciones coinciden exactamente con la realidad objetiva. Que la realidad la construimos en nuestra mente.
Que esto es lo que nos hace ver a los demás como héroes o como idiotas, como queridos o como detestados.

Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.
