Abusando de lo analítico-deductivo

Dado que el riesgo y la crisis son emergentes sistémicos de un entramado complejo, creemos conveniente citar algunos antídotos propuestos por Mitroff y Linstone (Mitroff, I.I.; Linstone, H.A. (1993). The unbounded mind. Breaking the chains of traditional business thinking. New York (NY): Oxford University Press) contra el recurso abusivo al método analítico-deductivo:
§ Buscar lo obvio, pero intentar por todos los medios de desafiarlo y hasta ridiculizarlo.
§ Cuestionar cualquier restricción, ya que —en la mayoría de los casos— no se originan en el problema mismo sino en las limitaciones cognitivas de quien intenta resolverlo.
§ Desafiar el mayor número de supuestos posible, ya sea que se refieran al problema o a la modelización que de éste que se está elaborando. Es necesario recordar que lo que puede resultar por sí mismo evidente para nosotros podría no serlo para otros.
§ Cuestionar el alcance y/o la definición del problema y del modelo ya que, con frecuencia, lo que se omite en el enunciado del problema o en la caracterización del modelo suele ser más importante que lo explícito.
§ Explicitar si se busca solucionar, resolver o disolver el problema. La primera alternativa significa elaborar una respuesta exacta u óptima. La segunda, buscar una solución suficientemente buena. La tercera, comprender que es otro el problema central que debe ser atendido, aún cuando el menos importante también deba ser solucionado o resuelto oportunamente.
§ Cuestionar la lógica empleada en sí misma.
No se olvide que pensamos que “pensamos” .
Fácil de decir. Difícil de hacer. Pero debe ser hecho.
