Inteligencia colectiva

Campos emergentes y convergentes que confluyen en la comprensión y el desarrollo de la Inteligencia Colectiva.
• Los métodos y las teorías de la auto-organización, incluyendo el caos y las teorías de la complejidad, las de los sistemas vivos, la cibernética, la ecología, la biología evolutiva, la teoría de redes.
• Las aplicaciones sociales de la nueva física, particularmente la Teoría de Campo y la Teoría Cuántica, tales como los campos morfogénicos y la sincronicidad.
• La dinámica del comportamiento colectivo estudiado por la psicología social.
• Los sistemas de información, comunicación y aprendizaje que expanden nuestra comprensión de la inteligencia y la cognición individual y colectiva, estudiados por la lingüística y la psicología cognitiva.
• La dinámica de grupos y organizaciones, especialmente los trastornos de “obnubilación” grupal (groupthink) que impiden el aprendizaje y la posibilidad de conformar organizaciones que aprenden, que aprenden a aprender y que aprenden a desaprender, olvidando lo que ya no sirve.
• Diversidad. En la medida en que los modelos mentales de todos los integrantes del grupo sean idénticos, la IC no puede agregar algo más que cualquiera de ellos. Esto es especialmente peligroso en un grupo de Alta Dirección o en un Estado Mayor militar. La diversidad enriquece las posibilidades a través de mayor información, perspectivas, estimulación y re-combinación.
• Sinergia. Es la relación generativa (emergencia) que las conexiones entre las partes de un sistema produce, dándole muchas más capacidades que las de sus partes individualmente consideradas. Es el factor clave que determina si la diversidad lleva a una mayor inteligencia o a una mayor estupidez colectiva.
• Significado. Valores, lenguaje, propósito, reglas y objetivos compartidos proveen un trasfondo común en el que se apoya el grupo mientras aprovecha creativamente la diversidad. Un propósito común potencia una “búsqueda conjunta” que es la clave de la auto-organización y la Inteligencia Colectiva.
• Flujo comunicacional libre. La inteligencia tiene íntima relación con el procesamiento de información. Esto implica apertura para compartir conocimientos.
• Apreciación de la complejidad. La diversidad de los datos y de la información nos obliga a enfrentar una figura más compleja de la realidad. Es escapar de las graves sobre simplificaciones y tener la habilidad de valorar los múltiples puntos de vista. En nuestra práctica en el mundo real, lo primero que buscamos es detectar esos puntos de vista (mapas mentales individuales), analizar su dispersión y aprovecharla para capitalizar la diversidad a través de “conversaciones poderosas”
Conversaciones poderosas
• Las conversaciones poderosas, basadas en potentes preguntas estratégicas que permiten que la organización se embarque en el proceso de “comunicación de segundo grado”.
• Crean nueva información y descubre expectativas profundas.
• Es la que enfoca en “lo que podría ser” y en la participación activa que permite revelar la profunda incertidumbre que está oculta en toda realidad tras la fachada de las peligrosas certezas y dudosas seguridades.
• Preguntas que transforman instituciones y culturas.
• Preguntas poderosas que abren más opciones que llevan a soluciones inesperadas.
• Preguntas que son “impreguntables”.
• Preguntas que ya no se preguntan.
• Preguntas que jamás se preguntaron.
Preguntas poderosas
• Las que parecían ideas inmutables sobre el ser humano y las organizaciones han sido directa y contundentemente desafiadas y transformadas en una escala sin precedentes.
• Las organizaciones del mundo real son hoy comprendidas por todos los expertos como “redes simbólicas socialmente construidas”, producto de la interacción de mentes humanas, en lugar de miopes organigramas o visiones declamadas.
• La experiencia nos demuestra y nos previene que existe un muy importante paralelismo entre toda esta área de pensamiento sobre las organizaciones y los desarrollos producidos por las neurociencias, los estudios de la cognición individual y colectiva.
• Los fenómenos mentales deben ser reconocidos como los únicos que determinan aquello que los sistemas humanos pueden hacer y la posibilidad de qué pueden llegar a ser.
Estrategia, Cognición y Poder
• Concepción sobre qué es Estrategia, qué es Cognición y qué es Poder.
• Ninguno de los tres puede ser entendido aislado de los otros dos.
• Resulta difícil distinguir la diferencia entre los tres elementos.
• Nuestra visión sobre qué es Información.
• Gregory Bateson definía información como “la diferencia que hace la diferencia” y Stafford Beer como “aquello que nos transforma”.
• Significa dar significado. Pero damos significado según nuestros mapas mentales individuales y colectivos.
• Sólo cuando la información pertenece a todos, la gente puede organizarse rápida y efectivamente en relación a los cambios bruscos del entorno. La gente necesita accesibilidad a información que nadie hubiera previsto que alguna vez fuera necesario conocer.
• Cuando la información es compartida, la gente ve cosas diferentes. Pero la relación entre la gente y su interacción comunicacional es la única vía hacia la inteligencia del sistema.
• La relación interactiva es la que crea información y la transforma, expandiendo la inteligencia colectiva.
